Gabriel, or Jibril in Arabic, is one of the most revered and significant angels in Islam, holding a unique status as Allah's primary messenger. Entrusted with conveying divine revelations, Jibril delivered messages to many prophets, including Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus), and most crucially, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon them all). Muslims believe it was Jibril who brought down the entire Qur'an to Prophet Muhammad's heart, a profound process that unfolded over 23 years. The Qur'an speaks of him as [the trustworthy Spirit], emphasizing his purity and reliability in fulfilling this momentous task. He is also described as [one mighty in power] and [a noble messenger], highlighting his strength and elevated status in the divine hierarchy. His pivotal role in transmitting Allah's final message to humanity underscores the divine origin of Islamic scripture and the continuity of divine guidance, making him a central figure in understanding revelation and prophecy in Islam.
