Good News (Bishara)

*Bishara* (بشرى), meaning "good news" or "glad tidings," is a deeply cherished concept in Islamic tradition, offering comfort, hope, and reassurance to believers. It reflects Allah's immense mercy and care for His creation, often conveying divine blessings, promises of support, and future rewards. In the Quran, Allah frequently provides *bishara* to uplift the spirits of the faithful. For instance, believers are encouraged to practice righteousness, knowing they will meet their Lord, and are promised [good tidings to the believers]. During challenging times, Allah sends good news [to reassure your hearts thereby], strengthening their resolve and trust in His power. The role of prophets and messengers, including Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), is beautifully described as [bringers of good tidings and warners]. They conveyed Allah's messages, guiding humanity towards truth and salvation. Furthermore, those who strive in Allah's path are promised profound rewards, with the Quran speaking of them [rejoicing in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His bounty] and [receiving good tidings of favor from Allah and bounty]. Ultimately, *bishara* serves as a constant reminder of Allah's justice and generosity, inspiring believers to steadfastness and faith.

Narrated Imran bin Husain: I went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and tied my she-camel at the gate. The people of Bani Tamim came to the Prophet (ﷺ) who said "O Bani Tamim! Accept the good tidings." They said twice, 'You have given us the good tidings, now give us something" Then some Yemenites came to him and he said, "Accept the good tidings, O people of Yemen, for Bani Tamim refused them." They said, "We accept it, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! We have come to ask you about this matter (i.e. the start of creations)." He said, "First of all, there was nothing but Allah, and (then He created His Throne). His throne was over the water, and He wrote everything in the Book (in the Heaven) and created the Heavens and the Earth." Then a man shouted, "O Ibn Husain! Your she-camel has gone away!" So, I went away and could not see the she-camel because of the mirage. By Allah, I wished I had left that she-camel (but not that gathering)

Narrated `Aisha:I did not feel jealous of any of the wives of the Prophet (ﷺ) as much as I did of Khadija (although) she died before he married me, for I often heard him mentioning her, and Allah had told him to give her the good tidings that she would have a palace of Qasab (i.e. pipes of precious stones and pearls in Paradise), and whenever he slaughtered a sheep, he would send her women-friends a good share of it

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:When the time draws near (when the Resurrection is near) a believer's dream can hardly be false. And the truest vision will be of one who is himself the most truthful in speech, for the vision of a Muslim is the forty-fifth part of Prophecy, and dreams are of three types: one good dream which is a sort of good tidings from Allah; the evil dream which causes pain is from the satan; and the third one is a suggestion of one's own mind; so if any one of you sees a dream which he does not like he should stand up and offer prayer and he should not relate it to people, and he said: I would love to see fetters (in the dream), but I dislike wearing of necklace, for the fetters is (an indication of) one's steadfastness in religion. The narrator said: I do not know whether this is a part of the hadith or the words of Ibn Sirin
