Satanic Enmity

"Satanic Enmity," or *ʿAdāwat ash-Shayṭān*, encapsulates a profound and foundational truth in Islamic tradition: the clear and persistent opposition of Satan (Iblīs) towards humankind. This animosity began with our first parents, Adam and Eve, when [Satan caused them to slip out of it] from Paradise, leading to their descent to Earth. From that moment, Satan's singular goal has been to divert humanity from the worship of Allah and the path of righteousness. The Quran consistently warns believers that Satan is [to you a clear enemy], urging us repeatedly not to [follow the footsteps of Satan]. His cunning tactics include instilling fear of poverty to deter charity, ordering [you to immorality], whispering doubts, inciting discord, and beautifying evil to make misguidance appear attractive. Recognizing this perpetual spiritual battle is crucial for Muslims. It teaches us vigilance, encourages seeking constant refuge in Allah from evil, as Mary's mother did for her child saying, [I seek refuge for her in You and [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled], and reinforces the importance of holding fast to divine guidance to navigate life's challenges.

Quran 45 verses

Fa azallahumash Shaitaanu 'anhaa fa akhrajahumaa mimmaa kaanaa fee wa qulnah bitoo ba'dukum liba'din 'aduwwunw wa lakum fil ardi mustaqarrunw wa mataa'un ilaa heen

But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that [condition] in which they had been. And We said, "Go down, [all of you], as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time."

Ma'arif-ul-Quran: A question arises here as to how Satan got into Paradise for seducing Adam and Hawwa (علیہما السلام) when he had already been expelled from there for refusing to prostrate himself.
