هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ لَكُم مَّا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَسَوَّىٰهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٍ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
Huwal lazee khalaqa lakum maa fil ardi jamee'an summas tawaaa ilas samaaa'i fasaw waahunna sab'a samaa waat; wa Huwa bikulli shai'in Aleem
It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven heavens, and He is Knowing of all things.

Wa iz qaala rabbuka lil malaaa'ikati innee jaa'ilun fil ardi khaleefatan qaalooo ataj'alu feehaa mai yufsidu feehaa wa yasfikud dimaaa'a wa nahnu nusabbihu bihamdika wa nuqaddisu laka qaala inneee a'lamu maa laa ta'lamoon
And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."
اور (وہ وقت یاد کرنے کے قابل ہے) جب تمہارے پروردگار نے فرشتوں سے فرمایا کہ میں زمین میں (اپنا) نائب بنانے والا ہوں۔ انہوں نے کہا۔ کیا تُو اس میں ایسے شخص کو نائب بنانا چاہتا ہے جو خرابیاں کرے اور کشت وخون کرتا پھرے اور ہم تیری تعریف کے ساتھ تسبیح وتقدیس کرتے رہتے ہیں۔ (خدا نے) فرمایا میں وہ باتیں جانتا ہوں جو تم نہیں جانتے

He said, "O Adam, inform them of their names." And when he had informed them of their names, He said, "Did I not tell you that I know the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth? And I know what you reveal and what you have concealed."

وَإِذْ قَتَلْتُمْ نَفْسًا فَٱدَّٰرَْٰٔتُمْ فِيهَا وَٱللَّهُ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا كُنتُمْ تَكْتُمُونَ
Wa iz qataltum nafsan faddaara'tum feehaa wallaahu mukrijum maa kuntum taktumoon
And [recall] when you slew a man and disputed over it, but Allah was to bring out that which you were concealing.

Or do you say that Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants were Jews or Christians? Say, "Are you more knowing or is Allah?" And who is more unjust than one who conceals a testimony he has from Allah? And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

We have certainly seen the turning of your face, [O Muhammad], toward the heaven, and We will surely turn you to a qiblah with which you will be pleased. So turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Haram. And wherever you [believers] are, turn your faces toward it [in prayer]. Indeed, those who have been given the Scripture well know that it is the truth from their Lord. And Allah is not unaware of what they do.

Ma'arif-ul-Quran: The Qur'anic view of making will وصیّت
Literally, al-wasiyyah الوَصِیّہ means an order to do something, either in the lifetime of the maker of wasiyyah or after his death. But, in commonly accepted usage, it refers to what must be done after death. It can be translated as the will or bequest.

Kutiba alaikumulqitaalu wa huwa kurhullakum wa 'asaaa an takrahoo shai'anw wa huwa khairullakum wa 'asaaa an tuhibbo shai'anw wa huwa sharrullakum; wallaahu ya'lamu wa antum laa ta'lamoon
Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.

فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ قُلْ إِصْلَاحٌ لَّهُمْ خَيْرٌ وَإِن تُخَالِطُوهُمْ فَإِخْوَٰنُكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْمُفْسِدَ مِنَ ٱلْمُصْلِحِ وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَأَعْنَتَكُمْ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
Fid dunyaa wal aakhirah; wa yas'aloonaka 'anil yataamaa qul islaahullahum khayr, wa in tukhaalitoohum fa ikhwaanukum; wallaahu ya'lamul mufsida minalmuslih; wa law shaaa'al laahu la-a'natakum; innal laaha 'Azeezun Hakeem
To this world and the Hereafter. And they ask you about orphans. Say, "Improvement for them is best. And if you mix your affairs with theirs - they are your brothers. And Allah knows the corrupter from the amender. And if Allah had willed, He could have put you in difficulty. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
(یعنی) دنیا اور آخرت (کی باتوں) میں (غور کرو) ۔ اور تم سے یتیموں کے بارے میں دریافت کرتے ہیں کہہ دو کہ ان کی (حالت کی) اصلاح بہت اچھا کام ہے۔ اور اگر تم ان سے مل جل کر رہنا (یعنی خرچ اکھٹا رکھنا) چاہو تو وہ تمہارے بھائی ہیں اور خدا خوب جانتا ہے کہ خرابی کرنے والا کون ہے اور اصلاح کرنے والا کون۔ اور اگر خدا چاہتا تو تم کو تکلیف میں ڈال دیتا۔بےشک خدا غالب (اور) حکمت والا ہے

Wa izaa tallaqtumun nisaaa'a fabalaghna ajala hunna fa amsikoohunna bima'roofin law sarrihoo hunna bima'roof; wa laa tumsikoo hunna diraa rallita'tadoo; wa mai yaf'al zaalika faqad zalama nafsah; wa laa tattakhizooo aayaatillaahi huzuwaa; wazkuroo ni'matal laahi 'alaikum wa maaa anzala 'alaikum minal kitaabi wal ikmati ya'izukum bih; wattaqul laaha wa'lamooo annal laaha bikulli shai'i 'Aleem
And when you divorce women and they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or release them according to acceptable terms, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress [against them]. And whoever does that has certainly wronged himself. And do not take the verses of Allah in jest. And remember the favor of Allah upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book and wisdom by which He instructs you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Knowing of all things.
اور جب تم عورتوں کو (دو دفعہ) طلاق دے چکو اور ان کی عدت پوری ہوجائے تو انہیں یا تو حسن سلوک سے نکاح میں رہنے دو یا بطریق شائستہ رخصت کردو اور اس نیت سے ان کو نکاح میں نہ رہنے دینا چاہئے کہ انہیں تکلیف دو اور ان پر زیادتی کرو۔ اور جو ایسا کرے گا وہ اپنا ہی نقصان کرے گا اور خدا کے احکام کو ہنسی (اور کھیل) نہ بناؤ اور خدا نے تم کو جو نعمتیں بخشی ہیں اور تم پر جو کتاب اور دانائی کی باتیں نازل کی ہیں جن سے وہ تمہیں نصیحت فرماتا ہے ان کو یاد کرو۔ اور خدا سے ڈرتے رہو اور جان رکھوکہ خدا ہر چیز سے واقف ہے

Wa izaa tallaqtumun nisaaa'a fabalaghna ajalahunna falaa ta'duloo hunna ai yankihna azwaaja humna izaa taraadaw bainahum bilma' roof; zaalika yoo'azu bihee man kaana minkum yu'minu billaahi wal yawmil aakhir; zaalikum azkaa lakum wa athar; wallaahu ya'lamu wa antum laa ta'lamu wa antum laa ta'lamoon
And when you divorce women and they have fulfilled their term, do not prevent them from remarrying their [former] husbands if they agree among themselves on an acceptable basis. That is instructed to whoever of you believes in Allah and the Last Day. That is better for you and purer, and Allah knows and you know not.

وَٱلَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَٰجًا يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا فَإِذَا بَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا فَعَلْنَ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِنَّ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
Wallazeena yutawaffawna minkum wa yazaroona azwaajai yatarabbasna bi anfusihinna arba'ata ashhurinw wa 'ashran fa izaa balaghna ajalahunna falaa junaaha 'alaikum feemaa fa'alna feee anfusihinna bilma'roof; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona Khabeer
And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind - they, [the wives, shall] wait four months and ten [days]. And when they have fulfilled their term, then there is no blame upon you for what they do with themselves in an acceptable manner. And Allah is [fully] Acquainted with what you do.
اور جو لوگ تم میں سے مرجائیں اور عورتیں چھوڑ جائیں تو عورتیں چار مہینے دس دن اپنے آپ کو روکے رہیں۔ اور جب (یہ) عدت پوری کرچکیں اور اپنے حق میں پسندیدہ کام (یعنی نکاح) کرلیں تو ان پر کچھ گناہ نہیں۔ اور خدا تمہارے سب کاموں سے واقف ہے

Wa laa junaaha 'alaikum feema 'arradtum bihee min khitbatin nisaaa'i aw aknantum feee anfusikum; 'alimal laahu annakum satazkuroonahunna wa laakil laa tuwaa'idoohunna sirran illaaa an taqooloo qawlamma'roofaa; wa laa ta'zimoo 'uqdatan nikaahi hattaa yablughal kitaabu ajalah; wa'lamooo annal laaha ya'lamumaa feee anfusikum fahzarooh; wa'lamooo annallaaha Ghafoorun Haleem
There is no blame upon you for that to which you [indirectly] allude concerning a proposal to women or for what you conceal within yourselves. Allah knows that you will have them in mind. But do not promise them secretly except for saying a proper saying. And do not determine to undertake a marriage contract until the decreed period reaches its end. And know that Allah knows what is within yourselves, so beware of Him. And know that Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.
اور اگر تم کنائے کی باتوں میں عورتوں کو نکاح کا پیغام بھیجو یا (نکاح کی خواہش کو) اپنے دلوں میں مخفی رکھو تو تو تم پر کچھ گناہ نہیں۔ خدا کو معلوم ہے کہ تم ان سے (نکاح کا) ذکر کرو گے۔ مگر (ایام عدت میں) اس کے سوا کہ دستور کے مطابق کوئی بات کہہ دو پوشیدہ طور پر ان سے قول واقرار نہ کرنا۔ اور جب تک عدت پوری نہ ہولے نکاح کا پختہ ارادہ نہ کرنا۔ اور جان رکھو کہ جو کچھ تمہارے دلوں میں ہے خدا کو سب معلوم ہے تو اس سے ڈرتے رہو اور جان رکھو کہ خدا بخشنے والا اور حلم والا ہے

Wa qaala lahum Nabiy yuhum innal laaha qad ba'asa lakum Taaloota malikaa; qaalooo annaa yakoonu lahul mulku 'alainaa wa nahnu ahaqqu bilmulki minhu wa lam yu'ta sa'atamminal maal; qaala innallaahas tafaahu 'alaikum wa zaadahoo bastatan fil'ilmi waljismi wallaahu yu'tee mulkahoo mai yashaaa'; wallaahu Waasi'un 'Aleem
And their prophet said to them, "Indeed, Allah has sent to you Saul as a king." They said, "How can he have kingship over us while we are more worthy of kingship than him and he has not been given any measure of wealth?" He said, "Indeed, Allah has chosen him over you and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and stature. And Allah gives His sovereignty to whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing [in favor] and Knowing."
اور پیغمبر نے ان سے (یہ بھی) کہا کہ خدا نے تم پر طالوت کو بادشاہ مقرر فرمایا ہے۔ وہ بولے کہ اسے ہم پر بادشاہی کا حق کیونکر ہوسکتا ہےبادشاہی کے مستحق تو ہم ہیں اور اس کے پاس تو بہت سی دولت بھی نہیں۔ پیغمبر نے کہا کہ خدا نےاس کو تم پر فضیلت دی ہے اور (بادشاہی کے لئے) منتخب فرمایا ہے اس نے اسے علم بھی بہت سا بخشا ہے اور تن و توش بھی (بڑا عطا کیا ہے) اور خدا (کو اختیار ہے) جسے چاہے بادشاہی بخشے۔ وہ بڑا کشائش والا اور دانا ہے

ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلْحَىُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ لَا تَأْخُذُهُۥ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ لَّهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مَن ذَا ٱلَّذِى يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَا يَـُٔودُهُۥ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
Allahu laaa ilaaha illaa Huwal Haiyul Qaiyoom; laa taakhuzuhoo sinatunw wa laa nawm; lahoo maa fissamaawaati wa maa fil ard; man zal lazee yashfa'u indahooo illaa bi-iznih; ya'lamu maa baina aydeehim wa mww khalfahum wa laa yuheetoona bishai'im min 'ilmihee illaa bimaa shaaa'; wasi'a Kursiyyuhus samaawaati wal arda wa laa ya'ooduho hifzuhumaa; wa Huwal Aliyyul 'Azeem
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Here you are loving them but they are not loving you, while you believe in the Scripture - all of it. And when they meet you, they say, "We believe." But when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you in rage. Say, "Die in your rage. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts."

Summa anzala 'alaikum mim ba'dil ghammi amanatan nu'aasai yaghshaa taaa' ifatam minkum wa taaa'ifatun qad ahammathum anfusuhum yazunnoona billaahi ghairal haqqi zannal jaahiliyyati yaqooloona hal lanaa minal amri min shai'; qul innal amra kullahoo lillaah; yukhfoona fee anfusihim maa laa yubdoona laka yaqooloona law kaana lanaa minal amri shai'ummaa qutilnaa haahunaa; qul law kuntum fee buyootikum labarazal lazeena kutiba 'alaihimul qatlu ilaa madaaji'ihim wa liyabtaliyal laahu maa fee sudoorikum wa liyumah hisa maa fee quloobikum; wallaahu 'aleemum bizaatis sudoor
Then after distress, He sent down upon you security [in the form of] drowsiness, overcoming a faction of you, while another faction worried about themselves, thinking of Allah other than the truth - the thought of ignorance, saying, "Is there anything for us [to have done] in this matter?" Say, "Indeed, the matter belongs completely to Allah." They conceal within themselves what they will not reveal to you. They say, "If there was anything we could have done in the matter, some of us would not have been killed right here." Say, "Even if you had been inside your houses, those decreed to be killed would have come out to their death beds." [It was] so that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purify what is in your hearts. And Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts.
پھر خدا نے غم ورنج کے بعد تم پر تسلی نازل فرمائی (یعنی) نیند کہ تم میں سے ایک جماعت پر طاری ہو گئی اور کچھ لوگ جن کو جان کے لالے پڑ رہے تھے خدا کے بارے میں ناحق (ایام) کفر کے سے گمان کرتے تھے اور کہتے تھے بھلا ہمارے اختیار کی کچھ بات ہے؟ تم کہہ دو کہ بےشک سب باتیں خدا ہی کے اختیار میں ہیں یہ لوگ (بہت سی باتیں) دلوں میں مخفی رکھتے ہیں جو تم پر ظاہر نہیں کرتے تھے کہتے تھے کہ ہمارے بس کی بات ہوتی تو ہم یہاں قتل ہی نہ کیے جاتے کہہ دو کہ اگر تم اپنے گھروں میں بھی ہوتے تو جن کی تقدیر میں مارا جانا لکھا تھا وہ اپنی اپنی قتل گاہوں کی طرف ضرور نکل آتے اس سے غرض یہ تھی کہ خدا تمہارے سینوں کی باتوں کو آزمائے اور جو کچھ تمہارے دلوں میں ہے اس کو خالص اور صاف کر دے اور خدا دلوں کی باتوں سے خوب واقف ہے

And they say, "[We pledge] obedience." But when they leave you, a group of them spend the night determining to do other than what you say. But Allah records what they plan by night. So leave them alone and rely upon Allah. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.
اور یہ لوگ منہ سے تو کہتے ہیں کہ (آپ کی) فرمانبرداری (دل سے منظور ہے) لیکن جب تمہارے پاس سے چلے جاتے ہیں تو ان میں سے بعض لوگ رات کو تمہاری باتوں کے خلاف مشورے کرتے ہیں اور جو مشورے یہ کرتے ہیں خدا ان کو لکھ لیتا ہے تو ان کا کچھ خیال نہ کرو اور خدا پر بھروسہ رکھو اور خدا ہی کافی کارساز ہے

يَسْتَخْفُونَ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَا يَسْتَخْفُونَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ مَعَهُمْ إِذْ يُبَيِّتُونَ مَا لَا يَرْضَىٰ مِنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطًا
Yastakhfoona minannaasi wa laa yastakh foona minal laahi wa huwa ma'ahum iz yubaiyitoona maa laa yardaa minal qawl; wa kaanal laahu bimaa ya'maloona muheetaa
They conceal [their evil intentions and deeds] from the people, but they cannot conceal [them] from Allah, and He is with them [in His knowledge] when they spend the night in such as He does not accept of speech. And ever is Allah, of what they do, encompassing.

O Mankind, the Messenger has come to you with the truth from your Lord, so believe; it is better for you. But if you disbelieve - then indeed, to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. And ever is Allah Knowing and Wise.

Yastaftoonaka qulillaahu yafteekum fil kalaalah; inimru'un halaka laisa lahoo waladunw wa lahoo ukhtun falahaa nisfu maa tarak; wa huwa yarisuhaaa il lam yakkul lahaa walad; fa in kaanatas nataini falahumas sulusaani mimmmaa tarak; wa in kaanooo ikhwatar rijaalanw wa nisaaa'an faliz zakari mislu hazzil unsayayn; yubaiyinullaahu lakum an tadilloo; wallaahu bikulli shai'in Aleem
They request from you a [legal] ruling. Say, "Allah gives you a ruling concerning one having neither descendants nor ascendants [as heirs]." If a man dies, leaving no child but [only] a sister, she will have half of what he left. And he inherits from her if she [dies and] has no child. But if there are two sisters [or more], they will have two-thirds of what he left. If there are both brothers and sisters, the male will have the share of two females. Allah makes clear to you [His law], lest you go astray. And Allah is Knowing of all things.
(اے پیغمبر) لوگ تم سے (کلالہ کے بارے میں) حکم (خدا) دریافت کرتے ہیں کہہ دو کہ خدا کلالہ بارے میں یہ حکم دیتا ہے کہ اگر کوئی ایسا مرد مرجائے جس کے اولاد نہ ہو (اور نہ ماں باپ) اور اس کے بہن ہو تو اس کو بھائی کے ترکے میں سے آدھا حصہ ملے گا۔ اور اگر بہن مرجائے اور اس کے اولاد نہ ہو تو اس کے تمام مال کا وارث بھائی ہوگا اور اگر (مرنے والے بھائی کی) دو بہنیں ہوں تو دونوں کو بھائی کے ترکے میں سے دو تہائی۔ اور اگر بھائی اور بہن یعنی مرد اور عورتیں ملے جلے وارث ہوں تو مرد کا حصہ دو عورتوں کے برابر ہے۔ (یہ احکام) خدا تم سے اس لئے بیان فرماتا ہے کہ بھٹکتے نہ پھرو۔ اور خدا ہر چیز سے واقف ہے

And when they come to you, they say, "We believe." But they have entered with disbelief [in their hearts], and they have certainly left with it. And Allah is most knowing of what they were concealing.

And it is He who takes your souls by night and knows what you have committed by day. Then He revives you therein that a specified term may be fulfilled. Then to Him will be your return; then He will inform you about what you used to do.

And his people argued with him. He said, "Do you argue with me concerning Allah while He has guided me? And I fear not what you associate with Him [and will not be harmed] unless my Lord should will something. My Lord encompasses all things in knowledge; then will you not remember?

وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ الاٌّوَّلِينَ

وَإِذَا جَآءَتْهُمْ ءَايَةٌ قَالُوا۟ لَن نُّؤْمِنَ حَتَّىٰ نُؤْتَىٰ مِثْلَ مَآ أُوتِىَ رُسُلُ ٱللَّهِ ٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ يَجْعَلُ رِسَالَتَهُۥ سَيُصِيبُ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ صَغَارٌ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَعَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَمْكُرُونَ
Wa izaa jaaa'athum Aayatun qaaloo lan nu'mina hatta nu'taa misla maaa ootiya Rusulul laah; Allahu a'almu haisu yaj'alu Risaalatah; sa yuseebul lazeena ajramoo saghaarun 'indal laahi wa 'azaabun shadeedum bimaa kaanoo yamkuroon
And when a sign comes to them, they say, "Never will we believe until we are given like that which was given to the messengers of Allah." Allah is most knowing of where He places His message. There will afflict those who committed crimes debasement before Allah and severe punishment for what they used to conspire.
اور جب ان کے پاس کوئی آیت آتی ہے تو کہتے ہیں کہ جس طرح کی رسالت خدا کے پیغمبروں کو ملی ہے جب تک اسی طرح کی رسالت ہم کو نہ ملے ہم ہرگز ایمان نہیں لائیں گے اس کو خدا ہی خوب جانتا ہے کہ (رسالت کا کون سا محل ہے اور) وہ اپنی پیغمبری کسے عنایت فرمائے جو لوگ جرم کرتے ہیں ان کو خدا کے ہاں ذلّت اور عذابِ شدید ہوگا اس لیے کہ مکّاریاں کرتے تھے

Commentary
Ma'arif-ul-Quran: The sense of the fourth verse (132) is fairly clear. It says that with Allah there are ranks for classes of people among human beings and the Jinn. These ranks have been assigned in terms of their deeds. When rewarded or punished, the measure used shall be that of their deeds.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn: All of those who perform deeds shall have degrees of requital according to what they have done of good or evil. Your Lord is not heedless of what they do ya‘malūna may also be read ta‘malūna ‘you do’.
Tafsir Ibn Kathir (English): ذَلِكَ أَن لَّمْ يَكُنْ رَّبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ الْقُرَى بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا غَـفِلُونَ

Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent.

Qadif tarainaa 'alal laahi kaziban in 'udnaa fee millatikum ba'da iz najjaanal laahu minhaa; wa maa yakoonu lanaaa an na'ooda feehaaa illaaa ai yashaaa'al laahu Rabbunaa; wasi'a Rabbunaa kulla shai'in 'ilmaa; 'alal laahi tawakkalnaa; Rabbanaf tah bainanaa wa baina qawminaa bilhaqqi wa Anta khairul faatiheen
We would have invented against Allah a lie if we returned to your religion after Allah had saved us from it. And it is not for us to return to it except that Allah, our Lord, should will. Our Lord has encompassed all things in knowledge. Upon Allah we have relied. Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision."

Yas'aloonaka 'anis Saa'ati aiyaana mursaahaa qul innamaa 'ilmuhaa 'inda Rabbee laa yujallaeehaa liwaqtihaaa illaa Hoo; saqulat fis samaawaati wal ard; laa taateekum illaa baghtah; yas'aloonaka ka annaka hafiyyun 'anhaa qul innamaa 'ilmuhaa 'indal laahi wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa ya'lamoon
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly." They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know."

Ma'arif-ul-Quran: In the fourth verse (23), it was said: وَلَوْ عَلِمَ اللَّـهُ فِيهِمْ خَيْرًا لَّأَسْمَعَهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ أَسْمَعَهُمْ لَتَوَلَّوا وَّهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ ﴿23﴾ (And had Allah seen in them some good, He would have made them listen. And had He made them listen, they would have turned away paying no heed). ...
Tafsir al-Jalalayn: For had God known of any good in them any righteousness were they to listen to the truth He would have made them hear in such a way as to understand; and had He made them hear — hypothetically speaking — already knowing that there is no good in them they would have turned away from it averse to acce...
Tafsir Ibn Kathir (English): The Command to obey Allah and His Messenger
Allah commands His believing servants to obey Him and His Messenger and warns them against defying him and imitating the disbelievers who reject him. Allah said,
وَلاَ تَوَلَّوْاْ عَنْهُ
(and turn not away from him...), neither refrain from obeying him or ...
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَمْ يَكُ مُغَيِّرًا نِّعْمَةً أَنْعَمَهَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا۟ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Zaalika bi annal laaha lam yaku mughaiyiran ni matan an'amahaa 'alaa qawmin hattaa yughaiyiroo maa bianfusihim wa annallaaha samee un 'Aleem
That is because Allah would not change a favor which He had bestowed upon a people until they change what is within themselves. And indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

Tafsir al-Jalalayn: That chastisement of the disbelievers is because God would never change a grace that He had conferred on a people substituting it with affliction until they have changed that which is in themselves until they have exchanged the grace conferred upon them for unbelief in the way that the Meccan disbel...
Tafsir Ibn Kathir (English): Allah affirms His perfect justice and fairness in His decisions, for He decided that He will not change a bounty that He has granted someone, except on account of an evil that they committed. Allah said in another Ayah,
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ و...
وَإِن يُرِيدُوا۟ خِيَانَتَكَ فَقَدْ خَانُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ فَأَمْكَنَ مِنْهُمْ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
Wa iny-yureedoo khiyaa nataka faqad khaanullaaha min qablu fa amkana minhum; wallaahu 'aleemum Hakeem
But if they intend to betray you - then they have already betrayed Allah before, and He empowered [you] over them. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

Wallazeena aamanoo mim ba'du wa haajaroo wa jaahadoo ma;akum faulaaa'ika minkum; wa ulul arhaami baduhum awlaa biba'din fee Kitaabil laah; innal laaha bikulli shai'in 'Aleem
And those who believed after [the initial emigration] and emigrated and fought with you - they are of you. But those of [blood] relationship are more entitled [to inheritance] in the decree of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of all things.
اور جو لوگ بعد میں ایمان لائے اور وطن سے ہجرت کرگئے اور تمہارے ساتھ ہو کر جہاد کرتے رہے وہ بھی تم ہی میں سے ہیں۔ اور رشتہ دار خدا کے حکم کی رو سے ایک دوسرے کے زیادہ حقدار ہیں۔ کچھ شک نہیں کہ خدا ہر چیز سے واقف ہے

Wa yuzhib ghaiza quloobihim; wa yatoobullaahu 'alaa mai yashaaa'; wallaahu 'Aleemun Hakeem
And remove the fury in the believers' hearts. And Allah turns in forgiveness to whom He wills; and Allah is Knowing and Wise.

Ma'arif-ul-Quran: 1. Finally, it was said: وَيَتُوبُ اللَّـهُ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَاءُ (And Allah relents to whomsoever He wills -15). لَوْ كَانَ عَرَضًا قَرِيبًا وَسَفَرًا قَاصِدًا لَّٱتَّبَعُوكَ وَلَٰكِنۢ بَعُدَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلشُّقَّةُ وَسَيَحْلِفُونَ بِٱللَّهِ لَوِ ٱسْتَطَعْنَا لَخَرَجْنَا مَعَكُمْ يُهْلِكُونَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ
Law kaana 'aradan qareebanw wa safaran qaasidal lattaba'ooka wa laakim ba'udat 'alaihimush shuqqah; wa sayahlifoona billaahi lawis tata'naa lakharajnaa ma'akum; yuhlikoona anfusahum wal laahu ya'lamu innahum lakaa ziboon
Had it been an easy gain and a moderate trip, the hypocrites would have followed you, but distant to them was the journey. And they will swear by Allah, "If we were able, we would have gone forth with you," destroying themselves [through false oaths], and Allah knows that indeed they are liars.

They hypocrites are apprehensive lest a surah be revealed about them, informing them of what is in their hearts. Say, "Mock [as you wish]; indeed, Allah will expose that which you fear."

ya'taziroona ilaikum izaa raja'tum ilaihim; qul laa ta'taziroo lan nu'mina lakum qad nabba annal laahu min akhbaarikum; wa sa yaral laahu 'amalakum wa Rasooluhoo suma turaddoona ilaa 'Aalimil Ghaibi washshahaadati fa yunabbi'ukum bimaa kuntum ta'maloon
They will make excuses to you when you have returned to them. Say, "Make no excuse - never will we believe you. Allah has already informed us of your news. And Allah will observe your deeds, and [so will] His Messenger; then you will be taken back to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do."

And say, "Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so, will] His Messenger and the believers. And you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do."

Their building which they built will not cease to be a [cause of] skepticism in their hearts until their hearts are stopped. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

Ma'arif-ul-Quran: Then, in the last verse (110), it was said that this building would al-ways keep increasing the doubt and hypocrisy in their hearts unless their hearts are shredded into pieces. The sense is that their doubt, hypocrisy, envy and chagrin would go on increasing right to the end of their life.
Tafsir al-Jalalayn: The buildings which they have built will never cease to be a misgiving a point of doubt in their hearts unless their hearts are cut torn to pieces such that they die; and God is Knower of His creatures Wise in what He does with them.

And, [O Muhammad], you are not [engaged] in any matter or recite any of the Qur'an and you [people] do not do any deed except that We are witness over you when you are involved in it. And not absent from your Lord is any [part] of an atom's weight within the earth or within the heaven or [anything] smaller than that or greater but that it is in a clear register.

Wa laa aqoolu lakum 'indee khazaa'inul laahi wa laaa a'lamul ghaiba wa laa aqoolu inee malakunw wa laaa aqoolu lillazeena tazdareee a'yunukum lai yu'tiyahumul laahu khairan Allaahu a'lamu bimaa feee anfusihim innee izal laminaz zaalimeen
And I do not tell you that I have the depositories [containing the provision] of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel, nor do I say of those upon whom your eyes look down that Allah will never grant them any good. Allah is most knowing of what is within their souls. Indeed, I would then be among the wrongdoers."

He said, "O my people, is my family more respected for power by you than Allah? But you put Him behind your backs [in neglect]. Indeed, my Lord is encompassing of what you do.

Wa lillaahi ghaibus samaawaati wal ardi wa ilaihi yurja'ul amru kulluhoo fa'bu-dhu wa tawakkal 'alaih; wa maa Rabbuka bighaafilin 'ammaa ta'maloon
And to Allah belong the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth and to Him will be returned the matter, all of it, so worship Him and rely upon Him. And your Lord is not unaware of that which you do.

And thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of narratives and complete His favor upon you and upon the family of Jacob, as He completed it upon your fathers before, Abraham and Isaac. Indeed, your Lord is Knowing and Wise."

And there came a company of travelers; then they sent their water drawer, and he let down his bucket. He said, "Good news! Here is a boy." And they concealed him, [taking him] as merchandise; and Allah was knowing of what they did.

And the king said, "Bring him to me." But when the messenger came to him, [Joseph] said, "Return to your master and ask him what is the case of the women who cut their hands. Indeed, my Lord is Knowing of their plan."

And when they entered from where their father had ordered them, it did not avail them against Allah at all except [it was] a need within the soul of Jacob, which he satisfied. And indeed, he was a possessor of knowledge because of what We had taught him, but most of the people do not know.

Tafsir al-Jalalayn: They are all the same according to His knowledge exalted be He those of you who speak secretly and those who do so openly and those who lurk who hide themselves in the night in its darkness and those who go forth those who are manifest to view when they make their way by day.

أَفَمَنْ هُوَ قَآئِمٌ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ نَفْسٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ وَجَعَلُوا۟ لِلَّهِ شُرَكَآءَ قُلْ سَمُّوهُمْ أَمْ تُنَبِّـُٔونَهُۥ بِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَم بِظَٰهِرٍ مِّنَ ٱلْقَوْلِ بَلْ زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مَكْرُهُمْ وَصُدُّوا۟ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَمَن يُضْلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنْ هَادٍ
Afaman Huwa qaaa'imun 'alaa kulli nafsim bimaa kasabat; wa ja'aloo illlaahi shurakaaa'a qul samoohum; am tunabbi'oona hoo bimaa laa ya'lamu fil ardi; am bizaahirim minal qawl; bal zuyyina lillazeena kafaroo makruhum wa suddoo 'anis sabeel; wa mai yudlilil laaahu famaa lahoo min haad;
Then is He who is a maintainer of every soul, [knowing] what it has earned, [like any other]? But to Allah they have attributed partners. Say, "Name them. Or do you inform Him of that which He knows not upon the earth or of what is apparent of speech?" Rather, their [own] plan has been made attractive to those who disbelieve, and they have been averted from the way. And whomever Allah leaves astray - there will be for him no guide.

And those before them had plotted, but to Allah belongs the plan entirely. He knows what every soul earns, and the disbelievers will know for whom is the final home.

وَرَبُّكَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَقَدْ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ وَءَاتَيْنَا دَاوُۥدَ زَبُورًا
Wa Rabbuka a'lamu biman fis samaawaati wal lard; wa laqad faddalnaa ba'dan Nabiyyeena 'alaa ba'dinw wa aatainaaa Daawooda Zabooraa
And your Lord is most knowing of whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And We have made some of the prophets exceed others [in various ways], and to David We gave the book [of Psalms].

Sa yaqooloona salaasatur raabi'uhum kalbuhum wa yaqooloona khamsatun saadisuhum kalbuhum rajmam bilghaib; wa yaqooloona sab'atunw wa saaminuhum kalbuhum; qur Rabbeee a'lamu bi'iddatihim maa ya'lamuhum illaa qaleel; falaa tumaari feehim illaa miraaa'an zaahiranw wa laa tastafti feehim minhum ahadaa
They will say there were three, the fourth of them being their dog; and they will say there were five, the sixth of them being their dog - guessing at the unseen; and they will say there were seven, and the eighth of them was their dog. Say, [O Muhammad], "My Lord is most knowing of their number. None knows them except a few. So do not argue about them except with an obvious argument and do not inquire about them among [the speculators] from anyone."
