'Aad

'Aad refers to an ancient and powerful people, often mentioned in the Quran as a cautionary tale for all of humanity. They inhabited a land blessed with abundant resources, becoming known for their immense physical strength and impressive architectural feats, building [lofty structures on every high place]. Despite these blessings, they grew arrogant and proud, straying from the worship of the One God. Allah sent among them the Prophet Hud, who urged them to [worship Allah; you have no god other than Him]. However, 'Aad largely rejected his message, disbelieved in Allah's signs, and [followed the order of every obstinate tyrant]. Consequently, their defiance led to a severe divine punishment: [a fiercely cold, overbearing wind] that devastated their land and eradicated their civilization. Their story serves as a profound reminder in Islam about the perils of pride, the importance of heeding prophetic warnings, and Allah's justice, emphasizing that true strength lies not in worldly power but in humility and submission to the Divine.

Quran 1 verse

Wa tilka 'aad, jahadoo bi Aayaati Rabbihim wa 'asaw Rusulahoo wattaba'ooo amra kulli jabbaarin 'aneed

And that was 'Aad, who rejected the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His messengers and followed the order of every obstinate tyrant.

(My Lord will make another people succeed you, ) This refers to a group of people who will worship Allah alone, without associating anything with Him. This also implies that the polytheists do not bother Allah and they do not harm Him in the least with their ...
