Weighing of Deeds

وَزْن الْأَعْمَال

The Weighing of Deeds (وَزْن الْأَعْمَال) is a profound and momentous event anticipated on the Day of Resurrection, symbolizing divine justice and ultimate accountability. It is the moment when all human actions, intentions, and beliefs from this worldly life will be brought forth to be assessed. Islamic tradition describes this as a precise and truthful process, where deeds are placed on scales, known as the Mizan, to determine a person's ultimate standing before God. The Quran declares, [And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth], emphasizing the absolute fairness of this judgment. Those whose scales are heavy with good deeds, performed with sincerity and devotion, [it is they who will be the successful]. Conversely, those whose scales are found to be light, having neglected their duties or committed injustice, [are the ones who will lose themselves]. This profound weighing underscores the importance of every choice made in life, reminding believers that some deeds, if lacking true purpose or foundation, might ultimately be [made as dust dispersed], highlighting the critical role of intention and sincerity in God's sight. It serves as a powerful motivator for living a life of righteousness, kindness, and unwavering devotion.

Quran 3 verses

وَٱلْوَزْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْحَقُّ فَمَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

Walwaznu Yawma'izinil haqq; faman saqulat mawaa zeenuhoo fa-ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon

And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful.

اور اس روز (اعمال کا) تلنا برحق ہے تو جن لوگوں کے (عملوں کے) وزن بھاری ہوں گے وہ تو نجات پانے والے ہیں

And those whose scales are light - they are the ones who will lose themselves for what injustice they were doing toward Our verses.
