Life and Death

In Islamic tradition, the concepts of life (الْحَيَاةُ) and death (الْمَوْتُ) are profoundly understood as integral to Allah's divine plan and sovereignty. Life is seen as a sacred trust and a journey of worship, where humanity is given the opportunity to grow, reflect, and strive towards pleasing the Creator. Allah is the ultimate giver of existence, the One who [brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life], emphasizing His absolute control over our being and ultimate return to Him. Death is not an end but a preordained transition for every soul, a certainty that prepares us for accountability in the Hereafter. The Quran beautifully illustrates Allah's power by asking, [who brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living]? This continuous cycle underscores His might and the promise of resurrection. This profound understanding of life and death encourages believers to live with gratitude, purpose, and mindfulness, knowing that even in physical death, those who strive in Allah's way are considered [alive, but you perceive [it] not], experiencing a different realm of existence. It shapes a perspective where this earthly life is a preparation for an eternal one.

Quran 25 verses

Kaifa takfuroona billaahi wa kuntum amwaatan fa ahyaakum summa yumeetukum summa yuhyeekum summaa ilaihi turja'oon

How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned.

Commentary
