Corruption of the Children of Israel
The "Corruption of the Children of Israel" (فساد بني إسرائيل) represents a profound narrative in the Quran, primarily discussed in Surah Al-Isra. This concept speaks to a divine prophecy foretelling two distinct periods when [the Children of Israel would surely cause corruption in the land twice, and would surely reach a degree of great haughtiness]. These instances of widespread moral and societal transgression were met with divine consequences, serving as a powerful lesson for humanity. The Quran recounts that following the first period of corruption, [We sent against you servants of Ours - those of great military might], who brought about severe retribution as a fulfillment of God's promise. Similarly, after the second instance of corruption, further divine judgment ensued, leading to deep sorrow and destruction. This cyclical narrative underscores the principle that [if you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, [you do it] to yourselves]. In Islamic tradition, these accounts are understood as a timeless reminder of accountability, the historical repercussions of deviating from divine guidance, and the universal truth that actions carry profound consequences for both individuals and nations.
Quran 2 verses
Fa-izaa jaaa'a wa'duoolaahumaa ba'asnaaa 'alykurr 'ibaadai-lanaaa ulee baasin shadeedin fajaasoo khilaalad diyaar; wa kaana wa'dam maf'oolaa
So when the [time of] promise came for the first of them, We sent against you servants of Ours - those of great military might, and they probed [even] into the homes, and it was a promise fulfilled.

[And said], "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, [you do it] to yourselves." Then when the final promise came, [We sent your enemies] to sadden your faces and to enter the temple in Jerusalem, as they entered it the first time, and to destroy what they had taken over with [total] destruction.
