King's Dream in Egypt

The King's Dream in Egypt is a pivotal moment in the Quranic narrative of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph), unfolding a profound story of divine wisdom and human resilience. Faced with a perplexing vision, the King recounted his dream to his advisors: [“Indeed, I have seen seven fat cows being eaten by seven that were lean, and seven green spikes of grain and others that were dry”]. His court, however, was baffled, unable to offer a meaningful explanation. It was through this predicament that Prophet Yusuf, then unjustly imprisoned, was remembered by a former cellmate. Summoned from his confinement, Yusuf, with Allah's guidance, accurately interpreted the dream as a prophecy of [seven years of abundant harvest, to be followed by seven years of severe famine]. He not only decoded the vision but also offered sagacious counsel on how to prepare, advising the kingdom to [store much of what they harvested during the good years]. This profound wisdom brought Yusuf out of prison and [into the King's favor], elevating him to a position of immense authority. This event showcases Allah's perfect planning, turning a seemingly ordinary dream into the catalyst for saving an entire nation and ultimately reuniting Yusuf with his beloved family, highlighting the triumph of truth and patience.

Quran 1 verse

Wa qaalal maliku inneee araa sab'a baqaraatin simaaniny yaakuluhunna sab'un 'ijaafunw wa sab'a sumbulaatinkhudrinw wa ukhara yaabisaat; yaaa ayuhal mala-u aftoonee fee nu'yaaya in kuntum lirru'yaa ta'buroon

And [subsequently] the king said, "Indeed, I have seen [in a dream] seven fat cows being eaten by seven [that were] lean, and seven green spikes [of grain] and others [that were] dry. O eminent ones, explain to me my vision, if you should interpret visions."
