Joseph's Brothers Arrive in Egypt
قدوم إخوة يوسف إلى مصر
The arrival of Joseph's brothers in Egypt marks a poignant turning point in the divinely revealed narrative of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph), found in the Quran's Surah Yusuf. Driven by a severe famine that afflicted the land of Canaan, the brothers journeyed to Egypt, which, under Joseph's wise administration, was uniquely prepared to offer sustenance. Unbeknownst to them, the powerful minister to whom they appealed for provisions was none other than their own brother, whom they had long ago cast into a well. As they entered his presence, [Joseph recognized them, but they were to them unknown]. This encounter, laden with emotion and unspoken history, set in motion the dramatic unfolding of the story. Joseph, having been elevated to a position of [authority over the storehouses of the land], meticulously orchestrated events to test his brothers and eventually reveal his true identity. This moment highlights Allah's intricate plan, where trials transform into profound wisdom, demonstrating how [Allah is predominant over His affair] and brings about justice and reunion, ultimately fulfilling Joseph's early dream of his family bowing before him.
Quran 1 verse
وَجَآءَ إِخْوَةُ يُوسُفَ فَدَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَعَرَفَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
Wa jaaa'a ikhwatu Yoosufa fadakhaloo 'alaihi fa'arafahum wa hum lahoo munkiroon
And the brothers of Joseph came [seeking food], and they entered upon him; and he recognized them, but he was to them unknown.
اور یوسف کے بھائی (کنعان سے مصر میں غلّہ خریدنے کے لیے) آئے تو یوسف کے پاس گئے تو یوسف نے ان کو پہچان لیا اور وہ ان کو نہ پہچان سکے
