Water as Source of Every Living Thing

Water holds a profound and sacred status in Islam, not merely as a resource, but as the very [source of every living thing]. This concept highlights Allah's boundless power and intricate wisdom in creation. The Quran beautifully articulates that it is from water that all life originated and is sustained, making it a powerful sign for humanity to reflect upon. From the lush greenery that springs forth from dry earth to the intricate life within animals and humans, water is the fundamental element. Allah explicitly states, [“Allah has created every [living] creature from water”], encompassing creatures that walk on two, four, or crawl on their bellies. Furthermore, the Quran reminds us that [He "created from water a human being"], emphasizing our own humble origins and dependence. This divine provision extends to revitalizing barren lands, as [Allah brings to life "a dead land"] with rain, providing drink for livestock and humans alike. Recognizing water as the essence of life encourages gratitude, mindful stewardship, and a deeper appreciation for the Creator's marvelous design.

Quran 10 verses

Wa arsalnar riyaaha la waaqiha fa anzalnaa minas samaaa'i maaa'an fa asqai naakumoohu wa maaa antum lahoo bikhaazineen

And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers.
