Sustenance (Rizq)

Rizq (الرزق), often translated as sustenance or provision, is a profound Islamic concept signifying all the blessings and means of livelihood that Allah grants to His creation. It encompasses not only material necessities like food, water, and wealth, which are clear manifestations of His generosity as seen in [gardens of palm trees and grapevines] and [livestock], but also extends to intangible gifts such as health, knowledge, peace, and even faith itself. Islam teaches that while humanity is encouraged to strive and work diligently, for instance, in [seeking of His bounty], the ultimate source and bestower of all sustenance is Allah alone. This understanding fosters deep gratitude and trust in God, reminding believers that [Allah provides for it and for you], highlighting His boundless mercy and power. Recognizing Rizq as a divine gift encourages a mindset of contentment and reliance on the Creator, seeing every aspect of life as a blessing to be appreciated.

Quran 10 verses

Fa anshaanaa lakum bihee Jannaatim min nakheelinw wa a'naab; lakum feehaa fawaakihu kaseeratunw wa minhaa taakuloon

And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat.
