The story of Qarun and his punishment, [recounted in Surah Al-Qasas], serves as a profound narrative within Islamic tradition, illustrating the perilous consequences of arrogance and materialism. Qarun was an exceedingly wealthy man from the time of Prophet Musa (Moses), whose [treasures were so vast that their keys alone were a heavy burden for a strong group of men]. Despite being advised to use his wealth for good and not to exult in it, he became consumed by pride, attributing his riches solely to his own knowledge and efforts, rather than acknowledging Allah's bounty. His rejection of divine guidance and his oppressive behavior led to a severe divine decree. As a powerful lesson for humanity, [Allah caused the earth to swallow him and his home along with all his treasures]. This dramatic event, known as *Khasf Qarun* (the swallowing of Qarun by the earth), highlights that true worth and protection come from Allah alone, and [there was no party to protect him from Allah].
