Covenant of Allah

The Covenant of Allah (عهد الله) is a profound and sacred pact between the Creator and humanity, a foundational bond that underpins a Muslim's faith and actions. It represents humanity's innate recognition of Allah's oneness and our conscious promise to submit to His divine will. Throughout the Quran, believers are repeatedly called to honor this covenant, understanding that [Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts] and watches over our sincerity and intentions. Fulfilling this pact means adhering to Allah's commands, upholding justice, and maintaining truth in all aspects of life, as beautifully instructed: [And the covenant of Allah fulfill. This has He instructed you that you may remember]. This divine agreement is not merely a formality but a continuous commitment that shapes our moral compass and our ultimate destiny. The Quran sternly warns against those who [break the covenant of Allah after contracting it and sever that which Allah has ordered to be joined], deeming them among the losers. Conversely, Allah Himself [will never break His covenant], assuring believers of His faithfulness and justice. Thus, the Covenant of Allah serves as a constant reminder for believers to live with integrity, gratitude, and devotion, striving to fulfill their promise to their Lord in every action and seeking His pleasure for success in this life and the Hereafter.

Quran 10 verses

Allazeena yanqudoona 'ahdal laahi mim ba'di meesaaqihee wa yaqt'oona maaa amaral laahu biheee ai yoosala wa yufsidoona fil ard; ulaaa'ika hum khaasirron

Who break the covenant of Allah after contracting it and sever that which Allah has ordered to be joined and cause corruption on earth. It is those who are the losers.

Ma'arif-ul-Quran: The claim of the Jews that they would not be sent to Hell for their sins, or, if at all, only for a few days, has been interpreted by the Commentators in different ways. Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price will have no share in the Hereafter, and Allah will not speak to them or look at them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them; and they will have a painful punishment.
